PREPARATION
Place in a bucket and pour an equal amount of boiling water over the barley and leave for 12 hours. Check occasionally and add more boiling water if the bait has soaked up all the water.
SUGGESTED USE
Barley is a very economical and effective carpet feed fishing bait, ideal for attracting and holding fish in your swim and for use in long-term baiting campaigns. Mix with hemp and dari for an excellent summer or winter-feed. Barley can easily be coloured during the soaking process, and take flavours well. Can also be used on the hook for small species such as roach.
TOP TIP
Add up to 100g of calf milk powder and two capfuls of molasses to a pint of warm water and soak up to 3kg of barley in this for 2 hours before adding the boiling water.
